Qualifications Explanation
The members and alternates are appointed by the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.
Alternate Member Rules Explanation
Each member may have an alternate, who may vote in the absence of the member.
Term Rules Explanation
The term of appointment for the member and alternate shall be two years commencing on the first of July, unless the member is replaced as described in subsection 2.03. a member and his/her alternate may continue to serve beyond the two-year term, if necessary, until the Board is able to appoint a replacement. Each member serves a 2-year term commencing on the first day of July. One-half of the member’s terms expire on July 1 of each year.

Members and alternates of the Committee shall be so classified by the Board of Supervisors that half of the members consist of: 1 - Representative from a fire-protection agency that provides pre-hospital emergency medical services at the “basic life support” (BLS) level, nominated by Monterey County Fire Chief’s Association 1 - Representative from a fire protection agency that provides pre-hospital emergency medical care at the EMT-Paramedic level, nominated by Monterey County Fire Chief’s Association 1 - Representative from a law-enforcement agency that provides pre-hospital emergency medical services nominated by the Monterey County Police Chief's Association 1 - Representative of hospital administration nominated by the local Hospital Council 1 - Representative of City Manager's nominated by the Monterey County City Manager's Association 1 - Representative nominated by the Monterey County Parks Department 3 - Citizen representatives nominated by the EMS Director with attention to appropriate geographic representation 1 - Emergency physician nominated by the Medical Advisory Committee 1 - Monterey County accredited EMT-Paramedic nominated by the EMS Director 1 - Representative of the contracted 911 Monterey County Exclusive Operating area ambulance provider.
