Term Rules Explanation
Each member shall have a term of three (3) years, but shall serve until his or her respective successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the first members. Members shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors and may be removed by a majority vote of the Board of Supervisors.
Meeting Day and Time Explanation
The Council shall hold a regular meeting every quarter within the Big Sur Area. The Council shall meet at such other places and times as the Chairperson or the Council shall designate.

Composed of 9 (nine) members and be representative of the community of Carmel Valley and its surrounding areas as follows: Two (2) representatives from the Mouth of the Valley Two (2) representatives from the Mid-Valley Two (2) representatives from the Carmel Valley Village Two (2) at-large representatives from businesses or businesses organizations located within the Carmel Valley Master Plan Area. These representatives must serve in their respective organization’s senior leadership: i.e. as a member of the organization’s executive committee. One (1) representative from Cachagua Area Plan area. If an alternate has not been appointed by the Board of Supervisors, appointed members may select one (1) alternate to attend meetings on their behalf
